The Library Project!
At this year's Eton Community Gala, we were very excited to have the library as our Raise the Paddle item. During that time of the live auction, Poppy Louthan, our librarian gave a heartfelt speech on the importance of the library and how our students interact with it. Fred Granados, the auctioneer, then asked guests to make donations to fund the changes and updates that Ms. Louthan has envisioned.
The Patricia M. Feltin Library is named after the founder of the school who loved the library and purposefully placed it near the entry to showcase it. Ms. Louthan loves that the library is at the heart of the school and is passionate about what she does. She understands the developmental needs of our students and envisions providing a cohesive, comfortable and inviting space where ideas can flow, books are explored and students truly feel like the library is their space. She foresees adding shelving and tables that can be moved and adjusted to accommodate new ideas and technology. In addition, she visualizes cozy reading areas with soft furnishings and tiered seating for group readings. Your child already loves the library and with your help the library space will develop into an even greater place for your child!
